Common issues

Authentication failures

• Ensure your DPoP proof is freshly generated for each request
• Verify the htm and htu claims match the request method and URL
• Check that your access token hasn't expired (default lifetime: 5 minutes)

Rate limiting

• Monitor X-RateLimit-Remaining headers
• Implement exponential backoff on 429 responses

VIN not found

• Verify the VIN is exactly 17 characters
• Ensure the vehicle owner has granted consent for data access
• Confirm the request targets the correct base URL
